Physical Education Curriculum
Avondale Schools and Deerfield Elementary use the EPEC (Exemplary Physical Education Curriculum). It is important to note that due to changes in schedules, inclement weather days off, etc. that not all appropriate skills may get covered. The PE department will do its best to cover the age-appropriate skills necessary for each student to move to their next ability level. At Deerfield, students will also be exposed Project Adventure curriculum (trust, team building, and cooperative activities). These activities are especially important in building relationships, social interaction, and a sense of community, where students are challenged to complete a task or tasks using creativity and cooperation.
